It’s hard to talk about an Action Bronson concert without it sounding like a work of fiction. Somehow everything he does seems truly unbelievable.

Saturday night he played a set in the Drake Underground, and even with the venues mid-sized status, Bronson instantly made it feel like a basement party. You’d hardly know there were people with popped collars just one floor up.

Action hit the stage with a joint in hand about ten minutes late, but he didn’t stay there long. Spending most of the set in the middle of the audience, taking occasional pauses to ask about local breakfast spots, and demanded that his DJ play Bobby Brown… Because he felt like dancing.

The entire thing felt like a NXNE showcase for your high school class clown, and we were all his friends supporting. However don’t let the antics fool you, because Action Bronson is a force to be reckoned with live. Playing songs from his most recent mixtapes, the highlight of the night came when he debuted the first single from his upcoming project with the Alchemist, which traded his trademark smooth jazz samples for a more guitar oriented production. If the preview is any indication, it’s a release to watch out for.
